Overall Purpose of the Job
Responsible for dealing with hazardous and non hazardous waste management on site. To ensure high standards of waste management is performed on site as directed by supervisor.
Main duties and responsibilities
General services operatives are responsible for dealing with hazardous and non hazardous waste management on site. Duties, not restricted to, are as follows:
- To service hazardous and non hazardous waste collection points throughout client site.
- Empty Non hazardous and Hazardous waste bins.
- Filling and use of the general waste compactor.
- Filling and use of the Dry Mixed Recyclable compactor Baling of cardboard, plastic and paper waste streams.
- Loading of curtainsiders and containers by use of Forklift.
- Completion of all ADR/IMDG paperwork for shipments of hazardous waste off site.
- Completion of all relevant paperwork with regard non hazardous waste Other paperwork and admin duties.
- Decanting of hazardous waste streams on site.
- Liaise with waste management vendors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in Environmental or Waste management desirable but not essential.
- Ability to demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety good practice in relation to cleaning procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation.
- Previous experience in similar role advantageous.
- Flexible approach to working as part of a team.
- Forklift training a distinct advantage.

Monday - Thursday, 08.00-16.30
Friday, 08.00-15.30
