Overall purpose of the job
Basic preparation of food and beverages, simple cooking, transporting and serving of
meals, general kitchen and dining room duties.
Main duties and responsibilities
• To be trained in correct use of all equipment.
• Prepare the dining and service areas to an appropriate standard
• Serve food and beverages at the specified times and in appropriate quantities
• Assist in the preparation of food
• Assist with the moving and setting up of the dining furniture
• Ensure that tables, chairs, trolleys and floors are kept clean and tidy at all
times.
• Clean all areas of the servery, salad bar, beverage machines and preparation
areas in accordance with appropriate cleaning schedules
• Assist with the washing up of cutlery, crockery, trays and light equipment.
• Operate the serving tills in accordance with managements instructions
• Cashier duties in addition to collect till register and to maintain the cash
register in clean condition and ensure it is returned to storage
• Clean in the kitchen and dining room as required.
• Comply with the Health and Safety at work act.
Qualifications and Experience
• Good Work Record
• Previous experience working in a catering environment
• Experience in the use of cleaning equipment is desirable
• Basic health and safety knowledge
• Flexible approach to working as part of a team.
