    Specialist Laboratory Assistant

    Location – Bedford, MK44 1LQ

    Hours – Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 16:45pm

    We’re currently looking to recruit a Specialist Laboratory Assistant, who will maintain laboratory equipment and work areas, whilst supporting our lab technicians and managers with daily tasks. You will be responsible for leading the stock control of the Ops & Pilot Plant ‘Dry Goods Store,’ as well as booking in and affixing LIMs labels on all incoming core materials. Using a counterbalance and flexi forklift, you will assist with the loading and unloading of collection and delivery vehicles whilst maintaining cleanliness and good housekeeping.

    In addition, you will be the key contact for our team to manage unplanned requests regarding equipment and ingredients. You will assist and cover the stock leader as and when required with stock management, supplier management, inventory control and purchasing using our accounting software (COUPA, LIMS).

    As an Apleona Specialist Laboratory Assistant, we’re looking for:

    • The ability to work flexibly and independently within the Laboratory Auxiliary team across various departments
    • Previous experience of working within a laboratory
    • Great customer service skills
    • Forklift Licence (training can be provided)
    • Good communication skills – written and verbal
    • Strong IT skills
