Building Services Plumber – Multi Skilled Engineer
Location – Hatfield, AL10 9AB
Hours – 40 Hours, Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00

We are currently seeking a Building Services Plumber. You will be working as part of a dedicated team and undertake the planned and reactive maintenance at our client premises at University of Hertfordshire.
As part of the role, you will:
- To undertake the Planned Maintenance of the Building Engineering Services, to ensure compliance with the specification, PPM, Schedules and Procedures.
- To respond to reactive request to ensure clients’ systems are not prejudiced and to maintain the continuity of operation as far as practical circumstance will allow.
- To provide emergency call-out services on a rota basis.
- To achieve a prompt effective response to emergency situations being capable to diagnose faults and initiating action to prevent deterioration in environmental conditions within the premises.
- To conduct the operation of the contract in a pro-active manner so as to minimise difficulties with the building environmental systems.
- To ensure that all communication channels are utilised in order to keep both the client and the Company informed of relevant information.
- To liaise with specialist sub contractors and engineers with other disciplines to ensure the efficient operation of the plant / area without disruption to the client.
- Any other duties as required by a position of this level within the organisation for which the individual is suitable / capable of.
Our ideal Candidate will need to have:
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 Plumbing & or Heating or Building services C&G
- Ability to demonstrate good oral, written communication skills.
- Experience in commercial or industrial maintenance services as well as the ability to multi task.
We’ll make sure that you have everything you need to do a great job. You will already have experience gained in a similar role. You will work 40 hours per week but will need to be flexible to ensure service delivery at the highest level.
