    We are currently looking to recruit a HVAC technician to join our team at our facility in Cootehill County Cavan

     

    Shift Pattern Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 Friday 08:00 - 15:30

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on AHUs, Chillers, Water cooling plant, FCU’s, pressurisation unites, dehumidifiers, refrigeration units, exhaust systems, and associated mechanical equipment.
    • Maintain controlled environments including blending areas, powder rooms, cleanrooms, and warehouses by ensuring correct temperature, humidity, and pressure control.
    • Carry out diagnostics and repairs to restore system performance and minimise downtime.
    • Replace filters, belts, motors, bearings, and HVAC consumables in alignment with maintenance schedules.
    • Operate, monitor, and optimise the Building Management System (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, Trend).
    • Respond to alarms and deviations; investigate root causes and implement permanent solutions.
    • Adjust setpoints, schedules, PID loops, and control logic within approved parameters.
    • Diagnose, repair, replace, and calibrate field devices including: Temperature, humidity, and CO₂ sensors Differential pressure sensors for cleanrooms Airflow measurement devices (VAV/CAV controllers, air volume nodes)
    • Perform loop checks, signal verification, and sensor validation in accordance with GMP requirements.
    • Support validation of controlled environments including IQ/OQ/PQ activities.
    • Maintain BMS trends, reports, graphs, and audit trails..
    • Ensure all work complies with GMP, HACCP, food safety, and hygiene requirements for nutrition manufacturing.
    • Follow Irish HSA regulations and site EHS procedures at all times.
    • Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and customer visits.
    • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and engineering records.
    • Assist with maintenance of plant utilities such as: Compressed air Chilled water Steam generation Wastewater systems
    • Identify opportunities for energy savings using the BMS for analytics and consumption monitoring.
    • Support engineering shutdowns, production changeovers, and facility expansion projects.
    • Work closely with Production, Quality, EHS, Facilities, and Automation teams.
    • Participate in daily operations meetings and contribute to root‑cause analyses and continuous improvement activities.
    • Respond promptly to equipment failures, environmental excursions, or urgent BMS/HVAC alarms.
    • Participate in an on-call rota where required and support occasional out‑of‑hours work.

    Qualifications & Experience

     

    • 3–5+ years’ experience in HVAC maintenance, BMS systems, or building services—preferably in food, nutrition, pharma, or other GMP environments.
    • Trade qualification or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or Instrumentation.
    • Experience with troubleshooting and calibrating sensors, transmitters, actuators, and field devices.
    • Competence with BMS platforms (Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, Trend, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of Irish EHS and engineering regulatory requirements.
    • Permit-to-work, Lockout/Tagout, and system isolation experience essential.
    • Full, clean Irish or EU driver’s licence.
