    We are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant to be based in Clonmel, Tipperary.

    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week.

     

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serve customers in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner.
    • Assist with the replenishment of food displays, counters, and service areas throughout service periods.
    • Operate tills, cashless payment systems, and employee cashless card systems as required.
    • Assist in the preparation and service of hospitality and special event catering when required.
    • Ensure food is stored, handled, and displayed safely and appropriately at all times.
    • Where necessary, assist with the preparation of food items, including salads, sandwiches, vegetables, desserts, and other menu offerings as directed Supervisor/Head Chef/Manager
    • Provide excellent customer service and respond courteously to customer requests and queries.
    • Promote a welcoming and positive dining environment for all customers.
    • Report customer feedback, complaints, or concerns to the Head Chef, Manager or Supervisor.
    • Follow all HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and allergen management procedures.
    • Ensure food holding, storage, and refrigeration temperatures are checked and maintained as instructed.
    • Report any food safety concerns, damaged products, or non-conformances immediately.
    • Adhere to all company health and safety policies and site procedures.
    • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout kitchen, service, dining, and storage areas.
    • Wash utensils, cookware, crockery, and catering equipment as required.
    • Follow cleaning schedules and complete assigned cleaning duties.
    • Ensure workstations are kept clean, tidy, and organised throughout the shift.
    • Dispose of waste appropriately and support food waste reduction initiatives.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth catering operations.
    • Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and storage of goods using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
    • Support stock counts and inventory activities as requested.
    • Attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
    • Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by management.

     

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, food service, or customer-facing environment is desirable.
    • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Reliable, punctual, and professional in approach.
    • A customer-focused attitude with a willingness to help others.
    • Flexibility to support varying operational requirements.
