    Mechanical Engineer (Mobile)

    Location – Southampton, SO45 3NR

    Core Hours – Monday – Friday, 08:00 to 17:00

    We are currently seeking a Mobile Mechanical Engineer. You will be working as part of a dedicated team and undertake the planned and reactive maintenance at our client premises, Esso in Hythe with some travel to other product pipeline locations.

    As part of the role, you will:

    • Undertake the Planned Maintenance of the Building Engineering Services, to ensure compliance with the specification and agreed service level agreements.


    • Achieve a prompt effective response to emergency situations being capable to diagnose faults and initiating action to prevent deterioration in environmental conditions within the premises.


    • Maintain up to date records of all work carried out on plant and equipment within the site manuals both hard copy files and electronic.


    • Provide emergency call-out in respect of all clients’ line with a rota basis.


    • Conduct the operation of the contract in a pro-active manner so as to minimise difficulties with the building environmental systems.


    • Ensure that all communication channels are utilised in order to keep both the client and the Company informed of relevant information.

    • Pumps
    • Motors
    • Provers/ Flowmeters
    • Valves


    Our ideal Candidate will need to have:

    • Time Served Mechanical Apprenticeship.
    • Knowledge and experience of building services systems, maintenance management.
    • Knowledge of implementing effective health and safety procedures.
    • Ability to use computers to intermediate level for word, excel and outlook.
    • Knowledge and experience on maintaining Pumps, Motors, Valves, TRV’s - oil changes, Seal & bearing replacement / maintenance 
    • Read and understand drawings.                                   
    • Full UK Driving License.


    • Experience in working in the Facility Management industry.
    • Worked in the Petroleum industry an advantage
    • Worked under a permit system.
    • Knowledge and experience working on various types of Valves, (Slab gate, Ball, etc.) dismantling  / rebuilding (Cort, ACV, WKM, M&J(SPX))

    We’ll make sure that you have everything you need to do a great job. You will already have experience gained in a similar role. You will work 40 hours per week but will need to be flexible to ensure service delivery at the highest level.
