    At Apleona, we are currently recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join our team based in Dublin City.

    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm

     

    Main duties and responsibilities

    • Process payroll accurately and within agreed payroll deadlines.
    • Review and validate payroll inputs, incl. hours worked, overtime, allowances, bonuses, deductions, leave and other adjustments.
    • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and employee tax, bank and personal information.
    • Process new starters, leavers and employee changes, including salary changes, promotions, transfers, etc.
    • Process PAYE, PRSI and USC deductions accurately.
    • Complete payroll-related Revenue submissions within the required deadlines.
    • Ensure payroll processes remain compliant with relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
    • Complete payroll checks and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
    • Review payroll reports before and after processing and prepare reports for management, Finance and other relevant departments.
    • Respond to employee payroll queries professionally and within agreed timescales, while providing support and guidance regarding payslips, tax, deductions, overtime, leave and other payroll matters.
    • Escalate complex or sensitive issues to the Payroll Manager where appropriate.
    • Process pension contributions, AVCs and other employee benefit deductions.
    • Administer healthcare, salary deductions, attachments of earnings and other payroll-related deductions, while ensuring deductions are processed accurately and within the required deadlines.
    • Assist with payroll year-end activities and statutory reporting.
    • Support payroll audits and internal reviews.
    • Assist with the implementation of payroll changes, system updates and process improvements.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee payroll and personal information.
    • Ensure payroll information is stored and processed securely in accordance with company policies and data protection requirements.
    • Assist with developing and maintaining payroll procedures and documentation and support the Payroll Manager with the introduction of new payroll processes and systems.
    • Work collaboratively with the Payroll, HR and Finance teams and provide support to colleagues during busy payroll periods and when required.

     

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Previous experience working in a payroll environment.
    • Good understanding of payroll processes and statutory deductions.
    • Knowledge of PAYE, PRSI and USC.
    • Strong numerical and analytical skills and excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good organisational and time-management skills with ability to work to strict deadlines.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
    • Experience using Sage Payroll and SAP or another payroll system is desirable.
    • Payroll qualification or relevant payroll training is desirable.
