Overall Purpose of the Job
The appointed Environment and Sustainability Manager will be responsible for providing a professional Environment and
Sustainability Programme to Apleona Ireland & Clients.
Main duties and Responsibilities
- Support, grow and develop the ESG Programme in line with local and Group requirements.
- Build the Sustainability Strategy for the business in line with Group requirements and set meaningful targets which
are aligned with core business values and objectives.
- Develop and execute the Annual ESG report.
- Promote a positive ESG culture within the organisation through the development of the Sustainability Committee,
education and training initiatives and promotional campaigns.
- Identify opportunities and implement practical initiatives that will consistently improve the organisations ESG
performance.
- Part of the GreenSpace team who recommend and deliver ESG opportunities to clients.
- Where applicable, contribute to and / or take ownership of schemes and initiatives aimed at demonstrating ESG
performance e.g. EcoVadis, BCorp.
- Provide guidance and support to the Leadership Team to ensure effective strategic decision making in line with
legislative requirements and best practice.
- In time, expand the ESG function into a client facing service.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject area e.g. Environmental Science, Business Sustainability.
- Working knowledge of associated legislation including, EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), EU
Taxonomy and Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
- Good report writing skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Full Clean Driving Licence.
- Access to own vehicle.
- Membership of a recognised body.
