    Overall Purpose of the Job

    The Catering Assistant supports the catering operation to ensure commercial success and consistently surpass client expectations. The focus is to deliver quality service in line with our catering standards.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Providing excellent customer service by being attentive, responsive, and friendly.
    • Communicating effectively with clients, guests, and team members to ensure a positive catering experience
    • Upholding consistent standards in presentation and products, regularly assessing progress based on client feedback to enhance experiences.
    • Contributing to creating a positive work environment for the team.
    • Adhering to Health and Safety guidelines, including proper handling of kitchen equipment and utensils.
    • Adhering to Company rules, and professional standards and procedures (COSHH, EHO, Food Hygiene standards) to minimise risk to customers and staff.
    • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly

     

    Key tasks

    • Assisting in the timely preparation of menu items under the guidance of the Chef or Catering manager.
    • Assisting with the setup of catering equipment, tables, chairs, and decorations according to event specifications.
    • Collaborating with the catering team to create visually appealing and organized displays.
    • Providing friendly, attentive, and timely service to create an exceptional experience for our clients.
    • Assisting in plating and presenting dishes to maintain high-quality standards, ensuring correct meal portions to minimise waste.
    • Preparing and cleaning service areas, hot cupboards, and equipment as directed. Washing dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, containers, tables, and all other catering equipment.
    • Providing clients with menu information, highlighting that the ingredients are high-quality and ethically sourced, and communicating allergen information based on our recipes.
    • Reporting any defects in equipment or premises to line manager.
    • Supporting catering staff during events by ensuring a smooth flow of service.
    • Addressing customer requests and inquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
    • Participating in job training as required.
    • Performing any other duties necessary for the effective operation of the catering unit.

     

    Working Pattern

    Shift Worker, 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday.
