Overall Purpose of the Job
Cleaning Supervisor to join the central Cleaning Department of Apleona (HQ).
To assist in the provision of an efficient and effective cleaning service in accordance with contractual
obligations and company policy and standards. Oversee cleaning operations across the business in
conjunction with the department to ensure quality, health and safety, service provision, staff training
and coordination is handled smoothly.
Lead and manage the day to day operations on the ground and be responsible for the Cleaning
operatives. Liaise closely and professionally with the Contract Managers, Client/Client representatives
in dealing with day to day operational matters.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensures the smooth running of the cleaning services in line with the Service Level Agreement
and Services Specification
• To supervise and investigate the quality and standard of cleaning services provided at client
sites and assist the Soft Services Team Lead
• To assist the Soft Services Team Lead in the supervision of the cleaning service staff, including
the allocation of workloads, monitoring progress and performance, determining work priorities,
paying particular attention to productivity and quality control
• To assist in the undertaking of site cleaning audits
• To control and monitor the correct use of appropriate cleaning materials
• To control and monitor the use of cleaning equipment, arranging the repair or renewal of
equipment and make recommendations to the Soft Services Team Lead
• To carry out stock checks on equipment and materials as required
• To arrange/carry out the induction and ‘on the job’ training of the cleaning staff in accordance
with relevant Apleona company practices
• To ensure full compliance with HSEQ and documentation is maintained and readily available
using company systems
• Monitoring training progress of cleaning operatives through company internal systems
• Ensure periodic roll out of Toolbox Talks & maintain competency records in line with Company
Policies & Procedures
• To undertake in conjunction with the Soft Services Team Lead, recruitment of cleaning employees
in accordance with relevant Apleona company practices
• To organize the provision of relief/ holiday cover for cleaning staff as required in conjunction
with the Cleaning Service Manager
• To authorize, allocate, and record in conjunction with the Soft Services Team Lead cleaning staff
absences
• Identify any breaches and report any incidents
• Perform ad-hoc duties and other related tasks as assigned by the Soft Services Team Lead
Requirements
• Proven experience as Cleaning Supervisor
• Robust knowledge of cleaning procedures and protocols
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Be willing to travel within Ireland to support company nationwide cleaning accounts
• Flexibility required for the role
Person Specification
• Fluent in English
• Excellent communication skills essential for professional discussion in meetings and for
frequent liaison with all contract parties
• Must have excellent organizational and management skills
• Be an efficient motivator and leader with good problem solving skills
• Team player
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Clean and full driving license
Qualifications and Experience
• BICs training / working knowledge an advantage
• Experience with time management systems for purpose of payroll verification
• Experience of using cleaning equipment
