    Overall Purpose of the Job

    The Maintenance engineer will also keep up to date with current technologies available for optimum reliability results including analytical methodologies, predictive technologies, and best practices for equipment design, installation, operation, and servicing. Is the Subject Matter Expert for maintenance competencies including Lean maintenance, six sigma, reliability and equipment back-ups.They will possess and apply a broad knowledge of maintenance principles and best practices. Provide Technical oversight and ownership of maintenance programs, including the development and implementation of systems to maximise the availability and effectiveness of equipment. Continuously evaluate equipment performance, and responsibility to lead and implement related maintenance improvement programmes. Site-wide ownership and SME for the maintenance processes.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure that maintenance activities meet all regulatory standards.
    • Responsible for Quality related maintenance activities NCs, CAPA, ECRs, Quality metrics.
    • Capable of providing technical leadership and, influencing and providing technical direction to Engineers, Technicians and operators as required.
    • Establish or maintain a series of Maintenance metrics and data needed to drive continuous improvement and equipment reliability and drive move from reactive to proactive maintenance...
    • Support design engineering and equipment procurement SMEs for the selection and installation of equipment for optimum reliability, availability, and maintainability.
    • Utilize appropriate techniques and tools (RCA, RCM, and MTTF, analysis) to reduce or eliminate equipment downtime issues.
    • Responsible for ensuring the correct application of predictive maintenance technologies across the site.
    • Develop an asset strategy for the lifetime of a Stryker asset. This includes creating and updating the asset register and determining the useful life of the asset.
    • Demonstrable strong analytical & problem solving skills, process improvement, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
    • Excellent presentation and written / verbal communication skills
    • Determine equipment criticality based on business, quality and health and safety requirements and ensure proper equipment criticality ranking is maintained in the CMMS.
    • Help determine spare parts identification and correct stocking strategy
    • Liaise with Area Team Leads, Operations managers, Manufacturing Engineers and Senior Engineers to understand equipment downtime priorities, and eliminate recurring issues.
    • Liaise with Production Team Leads and Process Technicians on Equipment PM plans to minimise impact on production schedule.
    • Stay current with technology and training; be recognised as the SME for the Maintenance / Reliability process.
    • Maintain and review Preventive Maintenance Plans and Procedures for operations maintenance
    • Ensure Quality compliance for all in house and contract maintenance activities
    • Develop and Implement Continuous Improvement activities to support Lean initiatives, cost reduction, and maintenance excellence
    • Assist with the Identification and Implementation of training requirements
    • Assist with Facilities maintenance activities as necessary

     

    Person Specification

    • Third Level qualification in Engineering – Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent is required, with 6 years plus experience in maintenance/facilities roles.
    • Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents.
    • Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement tools (six sigma, RCA, lean maintenance, TPM etc.)
    • Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
    • Experience working in a regulated environment.
    • Good Analytical Skill and Problem Solving Ability and lead/provide input into technical investigations
    • Technical back ground with a good understanding of manufacturing plant/process technologies.
    • Proven financial track record and financial acumen
    • The individual will be decisive, will take ownership for their results and will need to be team orientated.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
    •  Required to undertake studies with the objective to obtain a relevant qualification.

    Working Pattern

    Monday to Friday 7 am to 3 pm.
